When I got Emme (Yorkie) there was a possibility that she could get it and we thought that she did. She ended up have a bacterial infection in her digestive track which showed all the same symptoms as parvo and basically the same treatments. She is healthy now but it did cost a large amount of money to treat it.

My experience with parvo is you have to catch it early. It normally affects darker colored dogs. All of ours were black or brown or a combo of each. As soon as symptoms happen, they have to get under vet's care in order to survive. Bleach will kill parvo and that is all that I have found that works. You can do NOTHING for it outside and it can be around for 6 years. I never let a dog go outside of my house until it has had 3 sets of shots. Babies are confined during that time to the kitchen where the floors can be bleached daily and no shoes that are worn outside can come in.

You can get another dog if you choose to but you need to do a lot of bleaching before and you need to make sure the dogs gets all of its shots before you bring it home. My breeder was willing to keep my dog until I was ready for her and I also paid them to have the extra shots that they normally don't do before we brought the dog home.
I guess you didnt read my post. My dogs had all of there shots and still got it and died in 24 hours. One was a very light yellow lab and the other was a black lab. And the Yorkie was the normal blue and tan. Color makes no difference. Parvo has many strains, some worse tan others.
