Thank you everyone for your comments so far. It's hard to imagine how we will be able to give him all the puppy exercise he will need in the beginning between constantly keeping him within reach or crated, and not being able to take him out for fun walks until he's had all his shots.
Any more advice anyone can give on outdoor potty training and crating, I would really appreciate. I've read most of the advice I can find so far, but I still find it difficult to picture it all in practice with a bouncy crazy energetic puppy being so confined all the time.
Erin, I really like the "sling" idea! Genius!!! Are there any particular types of slings out there that would work best, or should I just get a soft towel and a length of rope or something like that and make one myself?
