Thank you everyone. We are proud of our little boy!

That was Paddy's very first trick (besides the basic sit and down etc) We practiced it for a month straight; I swear it's all we did in our spare time. It just takes a lot of practice! I'm sure your pup will get it soon!

i can't get milu to sit pretty, she doesn't like to stay in that position. she will only do it if you let her hold on to your hand while she dose it
That one took a lot of shaping for us. Paddy wouldn't hold it at first either, so I had to gradually increase the time he was expected to stay that way. Very gradually. At first I would just click for him whenever he went into that position; he wasn't meant to hold it for any length of time. Then I started making him hold it for a second before clicking. If he just went up and came back down, I would make him do it over and hold him up gently with my hand (that is why the hand signal is what it is, actually; it evolved that way I had no choice over it!) then I would click after a second even if my hand was still there, so he'd get the idea. Then I went to two, three, four, and eventually he learned that he had to hold it until I told him "okay" or "good boy" I clicker trained, and I think that was the key to most of his tricks!

Could you come to my house and work on 3 very stubborn Biewer's?
I would love to, actually. I would love to train animals proffessionally. I went to Petsmart to see if I could train for them, but they said I have to go to a two week class that is far away. I can't go away, because I have a three month old skin baby who still exclusively nurses from me. My heart was broken, because I would love to share the joys of animal training with others! I have a degree in behavioral psych, but apparently that isn't good enough. Stupid pestmart
