Default so can we get back on topic...

The genetics of color is a fascinating topic to address... For the sake of a normal conversation can everyone please put their personal feelings aside? I would like to have a succesful thread that actually has an end and doesn't just fade out? So, that said... Does anyone who actually knows a little genetics think that there might be a champagne gene that may affect the outcome of the coat... I know there are other animals that have this. It is a very rare phenotype in every animal that I know possess it. To answer a question posed about the eye color link... I know that in horses that have this geno/pheno-type they end up having hazel or amber colored eyes always... Which one depends on the original base coat color...
