Indeed, our little Yorkie kids are very, very smart ! My girl is 9 months old is only sometimes poos on her pad, yet if taken on long enough walks she will poo a couple of times and pee several.
We have gotten her trained though, to wait when the door opens, and not to run outside . She jumps up on our couch and waits very well. This is because it is a saftety issue. We are on the second floor, and I did not want her darting out ever time the door opened. We reward her with telling her "good girl" and a pat. that seems to be enough to satisfy her . I am very happy she has learned not to run outdoors anymore!
