Reese punctured his eye as a pup....not the cornea...with medication...it healed fine.
My vet told me as long as it's not the cornea...eyes heal themselves very well.
Good luck with baby pup. |
That makes me feel a little better, but I hate to crate them...they get so upset because they're used to being out to play all day in their little xpens, and I know she would have a fit. But if it saves her from surgery I may not have any other choice. She is by herself right now in a smaller playpen beside me. She cried for the first 30 minutes after we got home, but she has been sleeping ever since. I'm about to put her with mom for a few hours, set my alarm, and get up in another few hours to switch her out with the other girls. She's still nursing and I hate to wean her because she's only 6 1/2 weeks and 1 lb, 4 ounces. I really don't think she's quite ready, even though she's eating her solid food well.
This is just terrible...I feel like crying all night...I am just hoping that these drops work wonders and it's not that deep. Maybe she'll have a chance to keep that little eye. I would hate for her to have to have surgery so little, but if she's in pain then clearly I don't have any other choice. Keep her in your thoughts and thank you everyone for your kind words...let's hope she improves this weekend and it looks better when we go back on Monday.
