Has anyone ever heard about how to tell what color your pup will be? The breeder I got Maximus from put him as a 041 (blue and gold) on his AKC registration. She said the way she was told was that if their skin is blue under their black coat, then they will be blue. I don't know how the gold and tan is determined. If I'm not mistaken Maximus' dad is a black and gold and his mommy is a blue and gold.

Maximus is 11 weeks old and he is starting to get a few silvers on the top of his head, but for the most part, he is still black.
