I know there is a lot of talk that goes on here about health testing prior to breeding so my goal is to get a general consensus.
A lot of people list the testing that one
should preform on their breeding stock but I would like to see if anyone will come forward with the health testing that is
common practice. Since there are a lot of breeders on here I think this may be an excellent resource.
For example, everyone says that OFA certification is desired but when querying the OFA Patellar-Luxation stats on Yorkies there have only been 113 certifications in the past 34 years. (Source:
OFA: Patellar Luxation Statistics)
For breeders who know their lines in and out, what testing do you perform prior to breeding?
Thanks in advance!
