I do the same thing and it works great! He hated the bath so I brought him in with me one day and we was much calmer.

Just make sure you get an ear cleaner with alcohol in it. The alcohol in it will dry up any water thats in there ear. Just before you get out of the shower, squirt a little his his ear and rub the base of the ear, let him shake the extra out and he's ready to go. If you don't make sure the water dries up, it could cause an ear infection. My vet had the ear solution, it wasn't too expensive and it comes in yummy smells. There's apple, peach, and mellon! lol
