With each of my dogs, I have given them a choice of about five dog foods, and each has picked a different one! Piper would only eat Eukanuba, and Riley chose Science Diet. (I went online to the different companies for samples or coupons so it didn't cost much to try this.) All three of my dogs preferred to eat kibble when it is softened with water- just wet it good and let it sit for a little bit. I only do this for a special treat because the dry kibble is better for their teeth and gums.

When my two dogs prior to Riley were sick, and wouldn't eat anything, no matter what I tried, the one irresistible thing was a little bit of warm, chopped-up hot dog. I also found that I could heat a slice of hot dog about the size of a penny in a little bit of water, and put the water on the kibble for flavor, and that would usually get them to eat the kibble as well. Hot dogs are very salty, so they never got more than enough to get them eating again.

So far, Riley hasn't been sick, so he has only had dog food and whatever extremely gross things he can grab off the road- like long-dead sun-baked frogs, etc.
