Like "Gypsy & Me" said, he likely may be going through a teething stage. I learned the hard way about not having any teething toys for Sasha to chew on when she needed them sice she ended up getting ahold of our molding and coffee table
Since then I've made sure she has plenty of toys to keep her occupied.
