Since we don't know how many dogs are on Revolution compared to drugs like Heartgard, we really can't say "for sure" that there is a higher death rate just by this article but, in my opinion, Heartgard and possibly even Interceptor have been around for longer (so probably more popular?) with less deaths a year. My guess would be more people use Heartgard than Revolution and less deaths have been reported, so I really don't like Revolution.
I have read at least twice (I think it was right on Yorkie Talk) about people saying they have heard of some dogs getting heartworms even while on this. I mean, it happens with all these products but I've heard more about it with this one.
I use Interceptor.
Sentinel is Interceptor with Program to stop fleas from reproducting.
I think they are both reasonably safe for small dogs but all dogs are different. Heartgard is okay also (as okay as pesticides can be  ). |
Thanks for the info! We live in an apartment and Rory is pad trained, but since she attends daycare daily I'm pretty sure it's a good idea to keep up with the flea preventative, which we will now switch.
