Smile Biting Everything

Hi there,

I am new to this site, but wow am i ever glad i found it. I have a 10 week old yorkie, who we just love. He is a great dog, but i have just noticed that he likes to bite at everything. I know he is still young, but i just want to know how to properly discipline him so we are consistent all the way through. I have been told not to put him in his kennel when he is bad because then he associates his bad behaviour with the kennel and will not want to go in there to sleep at night. He is chewing on everything and i have read that grabbing (very gently) his nose and mouth and closing it and saying "no" works, but we have been doing that for quite some time now and he doesnt seem to listen any better. He is doing great as far as training on the puppy pads go, but he also likes to chew those up when we have him in the bathroom when we are not home.

I would really appreciate your advice on how to discipline him and how to stop the biting.

thanks so much
