Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (Maldigestion Disorder) in Dogs
Debbie- EPI is diagnosed through a combination of the TLI and Cobalamine levels - if both are low - then it is EPI. EPI occurs as a result of chronic pancreatitis which basically destroys the pancreas. With EPI, they simply cannot tolerate fiber. When given high fiber foods, it usually runs immediate through them. Because diarrhea and weight loss is a constant battle with EPI, many times there are malabsorption issues as well.

I really think that Susan Davis could help you as well. She is very knowledgeable about various health issues and the diets that support them. She is awesome with intestinal issues - IBD being among them!!!!
