If he's not neutered, he's probably marking. Is this something new he's doing, or has he just never been potty trained? If he has never been trained, then it's best to start over with the basics...keeping him contained in a small area with an expen or gate with pee pads or in a crate. He should have just enough room to turn around in the crate to prevent him from going in it. Also, if this is something new he just started, it would be good to take him to the vet to make sure he doesn't have a UTI or bladder infection. Your friend will have to watch him closely for signs that he needs to go out and be consistent. Maybe take him out every hour or so until he understands and is able to let her know he has to go out. When not in the expen or crate, it's helpful to put a leash on him and keep him with you as you are doing things around the house, etc. That way, it's easier to notice when he is showing signs of having to go. |
