Thanks, Nancy, for clarifying. You're exactly right. And thanks everybody else for the suggestions. I'm just seeing your replies but will check them out.
I've gotten all my music for Yorkie vids legally off iTunes. I can listen to it to my heart's content, but I can no longer use it as background music on my vids. I'm just glad that they're not trying to prosecute anyone and that youtube is giving us an alternative to taking them down completely. It's definitely not youtube's doing. It's the music industry's.
And hviola, I'm not sure about parodies that use names of copyrighted characters. It may be technically illegal, but I don't think they have an easy way to search for that yet.
