how long does it take for kennel cough to go away? of course with proper medication? next time that i go in which is next tuesday i will ask him if its kennel cough.......ill make sure to ask him about the x ray to explain better ty for the tips

Some advice I'd offer you...when you are at the vet's if you do not understand what they are telling you....make them explain it until you do. Remember you are paying them.... 
Hopefully it is kennel cough and with proper treatment it will go away. Sometimes that takes awhile though.
