How hard was it to get a yorkie from her??? Did she hammer you with questions?? Was there any circumstances that she would not let someone have a puppy besides breeding? The worm thing bothers me a bit too...because your pup should of been wormed by then...but then i have to ask the question of how old was your pup when you picked him up. Little things like that give you an idea if some one is a good breeder...

I understand that you wanted a pet...as far as not a show dog...but your puppy should have papers(of course you would had to pay extra for them)...if that was in fact what you wanted was a PureBreed...because that is your proof....the sire and dam dont need to be show dogs but they should have papers too. How else are you going to know if your pup is who she claims it to be.....People are untrust worthy... little Fluffy could get lose one day and mate with spike down the road...and sure the litter looks like yorkies but you wouldnt know for sure....and here you paid $3000 for an "almost purebreed". So i think documents and papers are important....But as long as youre happy and Max is a healthy and lively pup you did the right thing. But please...if you decide to get another yorkie....do research on your next breeder...even if that means waiting longer for get your baby.

I hope i didnt come across mean or anything....im just passionate about these little guys

You are not coming across as mean.

Denise did offer papers so we could register... we didn't want them.

I don't agree that if someone does this as a business that is somehow a judgment on their character as a breeder. It is not a pleasant occupation if you don't have a great love for animals.

As I mentioned, I saw several dogs over two visits and they were all healthy, vibrant and social dogs... she even brought them to see us two at a time so we could see how they interacted with other pups.

Regarding your comment on her website... I did look at a lot of websites from people all over the country who were selling yorkies. Few provided even as much info as she did.

Most breeders on the AKC website don't even have websites themselves. So I don't know how you would compare.

Regarding complaints on the internet... well, that's the way the world works now. If you have a presence on the internet, you will have detractors on the internet too. When I google her and the business though, all of the complaints lead back to one website - either directly or through links like on this discussion board. That's different than having complaints all over.

I have certainly gotten food for thought by reading this and other threads.
