Its good that you had a positive experience with Denise...which im glad...because ive looked her up when i read this thread and she does have a long list of complaints...I wouldnt say she is running a puppy mill because i havent seen her kennel...and i checked out her website as well...and frankly i feel she didnt give too much information about how she does things...but it does sound like she has the same motives as a puppy mill....money....she has turned breeding yorkies in to her JOB...a business strickly....with hired help and all...I feel she has turned yorkies in to a commande. How hard was it to get a yorkie from her??? Did she hammer you with questions?? Was there any circumstances that she would not let someone have a puppy besides breeding? The worm thing bothers me a bit too...because your pup should of been wormed by then...but then i have to ask the question of how old was your pup when you picked him up. Little things like that give you an idea if some one is a good breeder...
I understand that you wanted a pet...as far as not a show dog...but your puppy should have papers(of course you would had to pay extra for them)...if that was in fact what you wanted was a PureBreed...because that is your proof....the sire and dam dont need to be show dogs but they should have papers too. How else are you going to know if your pup is who she claims it to be.....People are untrust worthy... little Fluffy could get lose one day and mate with spike down the road...and sure the litter looks like yorkies but you wouldnt know for sure....and here you paid $3000 for an "almost purebreed". So i think documents and papers are important....But as long as youre happy and Max is a healthy and lively pup you did the right thing. But please...if you decide to get another yorkie....do research on your next breeder...even if that means waiting longer for get your baby.
