Default Wow!

I came on here as I usually do to find information on this wonderful site to help me do the best by my sweet boy Max.... who will turn 2 next month. Imagine my surprise to find a thread about his breeder on the front page.

Please don't flame me for telling my own experience - which is positive.

There is a health guarantee provided you take your dog for a vet check within one week. That seems fair enough to me. After that, unfortunately, it is the genetic lottery whether a dog develops health problems.

Have any of you actually been to her place? The dogs don't all live in the house, but it's clear that they are treated well and do come into the house. They are also clearly very well socialized with other dogs and with people. I looked at yorkie puppies in stores that do get them from "mills" and the way they interact with people and other dogs in the store is completely different than what we experienced at country home.

The 33 photos on the website are not all available for sale. They are only updated periodically.

Now finally, the puppies. I did see a half a dozen puppies the day we went. She brought in a range of temperaments and physical characteristics. Every one of them was a treasure in its own right... and it was hard to pick only one but we did... and i know every yorkie owner is passionate about their dogs but honestly.... everyone who meets Max wants to know where we got him because he is so loving and friendly, yet spirited and playful, and adorable to boot. I get requests for his breeder's name both from yorkie owners and non-owners.

He had some kind of worms when we initially brought him home (can't remember exactly what), but she (denise) had given us de-wormer and our vet said that this is very common and nothing to be concerned about. I'm sorry I can't recall all the details but believe me, I am a type-A about all of this stuff and I go to a very good vet.

She has been in this business for 20 years. It's not a hobby, it's a full time job. She has help to do it - I met the help. Does that make it a puppy mill? I am confused.

I did not want a show dog and I did not want a dog to breed. Not having him registered didn't bother me. Denise says she doesn't want to sell puppies to be bred.... I signed an agreement saying that I would not. Can someone explain to me why that is bad?
