If you want to get her used to the crate, put her in for short increments of time with a treat or stuffed kong... gradually increase those minutes...
Izze is claustrauphobic so I just leave her in my bedroom with Molly... so that works out. Could you puppyproof a room in your parent's home? a bathroom perhaps (make sure chemicals in bathroom are put away (not under sink) and toilet lid is shut...
