I would keep in mind that a soft-sided carrier will squish down to fit under the seat if necessary. I have flown with Rory (9 lbs) in a Coach carrier that measures: 16 1/2 (W) x 12 1/2 (H) tall x 9 1/2 (D) according to the website. I think depending on the type of plane you will have more or less room too. Some flights I've practically straddled the bag and other flights it seemed to slide right in without any squishing. Hopefully that helps!

I know Delta has a sherpa carrier they recommend that I think would definitely fit Sasha, and probably work on other airlines as well.
