I got Jake right before my son moved out. He is the youngest and the last to leave. My oldest daughter has 3 kids, and she lives about an hour away. It was hard for me when they first moved because we are so close to the grandchildren. My middle daughter isn't married yet, but she has her own apt. and visits us alot. I see all my kids and grandchildren really often, but I do think Jake helped to fill the void of them being gone. A year after I got Jake, I added Jackson. The two of them keep me busy, and I really enjoy taking care of them and playing with them.
Personally, I am glad I waited until my kids were grown to get my yorkies. I have so much more time for them than I would have if I still had children at home. I was forced to retire early because of illness, and it's wonderful to have my boys as companions while my husband is at work. |
