The others are right. Diarrhea is serious in a small young puppy. It is difficult to keep them hydrated and nourished when they have diarrhea. The breeder should have gone over all the things that could happen and what to do for them. If there is no pathological(germs) reason, just food, water, home change then the baby should be treated one way. If there are other things involved, meds need to be used under the vets' supervision.
I am on a soapbox and do not intend to hurt anybody's feelings BUT, ALWAYS MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A VET BEFORE YOU EVEN BRING YOUR BABY HOME. You can always cancel the appt but it is really hard to make one on a moments notice. The written purchase agreement should state the time within which the puppy must be examined by the vet. If you have other pets, keep the baby away from them til the vet gives the newby a clean bill of health.Take stool specs in the first visit.. |
