I just purchased insurance on Jezebel. Gypsy Rose is almost 3 and we've been lucky so far! She is a bigger hearty girl, weighing in at 12lbs! Jez is 9 weeks so time will tell.

After reasearching, I was looking at Petplan & Trupanion.

I went with Trupanion: Welcome to Trupanion - Pet Insurance Made Easy for the coverage in case she turns out sickly or fragile.. all babies are different!

They cover hereditary & congenital conditions as long as your pet was not showing signs or been previously diagnosed. This was a BIG selling point for me after hearing some of the sad news here. The catch is your baby has to be .. well .. a baby (under 1 yr). They do have a parent company out of Canada. It pays 90% (of the actual bill NOT a "fee/benefit schedule". You would have to pay upfront unless your vet will agree to direct billing from my understanding.

All in all, I liked the peace of knowing we have the coverage, they are rated well with Pet Insurance Reviews, and give you flexibilty with the ded.
