The purple on my friends poodle completely faded away in a few weeks without any bathing. I haven't bathed Brandy yet (I colored her on Friday) so I'm not sure how soon it will fade. It's supposed to be semiperminent but is vegetable based color with no peroxide so it will probably fade substantially with every bath (I usually bathe about once a week). My husband has made it very clear that I am not to touch our boy! His boy! Titan is totally his baby while Brandy is more mine. I wouldn't ever consider coloring Titan anyway because he is in full coat and I wouldn't want to risk the color staying too long. With Brandy even if it doesn't fade I trim her often enough that it will be cut off eventually. I doubt it will last that long though.
