I never gave the pending Christmas Tree a thought until now

What am I gonna do? My older chow mix never gave me any trouble except to steal the candy canes she could reach. But Garrett now.....
...he's a whole different story. I'm really worried what he may do.
I have an artificial prelit tree, but I'm worried he'll go after the plug wire and ornaments.
Oh boy....I guess I'll just have to put it up in stages and see what happens. I'll leave it naked for a few days, then add ornaments from the top down, but none within his reach.
As for the candy canes..... I may have to omit those this year, because his 'big sister' is sure to share with him if she gets them off the tree
Is peppermint bad for them???
