Spike and I have PetPlan. So far I've had no need to use it (knock on wood!). I got it because someone I know ended up spending $5000 on his cat when she got a tumour in her bowel. Ironically, the post-operative care cost more than the actual treatment, because she spent three days at the emergency vet recovering, and then was on IV antibiotics for weeks.
I got it simply because I never wanted to be in a position where financial considerations would impact Spike's treatment. If he ever got sick or injured, I want him to have the best care possible. Getting insurance takes a lot of the financial worry away. |
