Crystal, that is incredibly strange that your vet said human probiotics do not work on animals..There's plenty of research out there showing how these products have been used on animals first and based on their success, they were tested on humans.

You have to do with what you feel comfortable with, and follow your vet's advice if you feel she is correct.
Personally, I don't believe that human probiotics and dog probiotics are different. They both have the inclusion of the same strains. From what I understand, they are not any different.
