Well personally i wouldn't leave him the day after- i'd just call in sick. You need to make sure he is eating and drinking fine. From what i gather neuters are easier on dogs than spays so i'm sure the second day he'll be fine.
YOu might want to buy an infant onesie to keep him from licking his incision. But again you need to be home with him so when he has to pee you can undo it-
