I don't think you can do anything to gauarantee a dog from having seizures. Most vets will tell you that mixed breed dogs are "in general" healthier that purebred or show dogs. Show breeders do a lot of in breeding and line breeding sometimes, but I have never see the result of any scientific studies regarding this.
