My little girl used to run out when I opened the door to let my Jack Russell, Levi sunbathe on the front porch, she just learned from me saying "Rio, Stay" everyday. Now, she doesn't even try to go out when the door opens. Guess it's
the repetition. Another thing I do is....if I have to do something outside w/o them, I tell them "I'll be right back", do what I have to, then come back in. Then I say "Good puppies". This doesn't seem to bother them, they stay & know I'll be right back in.
