This was a problem when we lived in the desert in AZ. One of our neighbors dogs got bit on the head but lived. His head was very swollen for awhile and he looked really bad. He is one of very few that survived a rattle snake bite. He was about a medium/larger size dog, nothing like a tiny Yorkie. Our cats liked to surround the rattle snakes, we had a few close calls too.
