Since she was using them, I took the xpen down because it took up so much room, but when I did, she didn't use the pads! So I put it back up. If I move the pad to the door, I'll try again to remove the pen. My problem is there is very little space and I would love to get rid of the pen. She has a crate she can go to when I am away. I'll keep working on it. Thanks again. |
Tight Quarters can be a problem but can also be a help with fewer places to get out of sight to potty. The play pen is a great idea and I use it a lot...unless I am keeping the puppy for myself. Then I use the crate exclusively and the crate stays right by the door so she can go straight outside each time I take her out. The play pen used during the day for longer periods works very well, I think crating helps the puppy understand that she must please me to earn free time in the house. It's my job to communicate to her what pleases me, and nothing's better than a successful outside potty!
The fact that you are paying attention and actively trying to train puts you half way there. I don't call a puppy house trained until at least a year. You'll have a well trained companion before you know it. Good Luck!!!
