I also got a new puppy who is 5 month old now and named Oreo. For him I use Wellness food. It is Organic, unfortunately found at Petco only, and is really good for them since it has only the good things they need; no by-product, wheat, soy, corn ect. I put the dry food and wet food for puppies and mix them both together then add a few spoonfuls of hot water and mix it all together so the wet food covers the dry food fully.
As for the sleeping issue I put my puppy in a large enough crate where he can move around a bit and will fit him as he grows with a small toy and he sleeps beside my bed so he stays warm in my room, but is not developing bad habits in my bed where he could fall off or get easily squashed. He does cry sometimes especially the first few night and it was really hard for me not to take him out and hold him but you have to be strong and tell her no if she does bark.
My puppy has been going on pads since he came here and we go for walks every once in a while and now that he is old enough and I try to take him in my backyard, but he will never go outside no matter what i do. I even tried buying a special spray that makes them go potty but it only worked on the pads not outside.so i hope you have better luck then I did.
As for bathing I am not sure, but if you do you should keep her in a very warm area of the house (maybe hold her in a room with a lit fireplace?) and change her bath towel if it gets to wet or damp after a while because it will make her colder.
Anyway good luck with your new baby and I hope she brings you as much joy and laughs as mine did! |
Wellness can be found many other place than jsut Petco. and i'm pretty sure it isn't organic- although i guess anything can be called organic since there are no standards for that term.
