Hopefully the baby won't go potty in it's crate - they truly don't want to do that. Make sure they've gone potty before putting them in. You should be able to tell if it's a cry because they are in a crate and everything is so new and they are scared, or crying because they truly have to go potty and need to get out so they don't soil their crate. For the first week, I kept a potty pad on the floor by my bed just in case Canyon woke me up urgently, I could just put him on the pad, watch him till he went and then straight back in the crate. I got lucky, he has slept through the night from the beginning.
I am picking up Canyon's new brother tomorrow so I will be going through the same scenario as I did with Canyon when I first brought him home. Hope I get lucky a 2nd time on the sleeping through the night without having to go potty. |
