Vets offices often say that Science Diet is a good food because they sell it and the company PAYS them to sell it- also vets tend to not be very educated on dog health.
I highly suggest Natural Balance. And if she has only been home for a few days i'd also wait to change her over- she is VERY tiny and if she were to get diarrhea from the change it could land her in the hospital. When you do change it should be over a several weeks because of her weight. she will probably have loose poop because she is adjusting to the new food but as long as she is eating and drinking she should be fine- if she looks or acts lethargic or has liquid diarrhea- she needs to go to the vet fast!
I also highly recommend crating at night! Layla LOVES her crate and it is great for travelling!
