We always have a real tree too. But we came up with a way to keep Jamie out of it. We took a HUGE plastic trash bag and put it under the stand for easy cleanup or in case water was spilled. Then we covered the trash bag with the tree skirt. Every time Jamie stepped on the tree skirt it would make a crackling sound and I would say "Jamie leave the tree alone!" After 3 days, he knew he would get caught so he didn't even try anymore.
