This was a problem for me! Not only is it disgusting among other things, I was told by my Vet. that it is due to lack of minerals in his diet? I tried everything, it's a common problem. The more upset I got, the more excited he got, thus the more he did it! Beleive it or not, he stopped eating it, when I ignored the Behaviour? No amount of scolding or products would make him stop, I tried everything from the Pet Stores to the Vet. prescribing medication. He was too smart he just stopped eating it during the medication and started eating it again after the medication was finished! We even used to tag team each other (me and my Husband) we had to watch when he was going pooh and then the other would have to distract him and steal it/pick it up, before he could eat it. It was a major problem and bothered/disturbed me deeply! And one day he just stopped and got bored with the whole game? Or maybe he just grew out of it? If it makes you feel better? He not only ate his, but cat pooh too! As well as duck/geese pooh. It was a Delicacy for him?
