My groomer just taught me how to clip the nails tonight. I was taking them half way between their groomer visits to PetSmart to get their nails trimmed and it was $8 a dog. I told her today and she was like "Goodness let me show you!" and I clipped both Chip and Smokey all by myself. So now, she'll clip their nails every six weeks and I'll do their nails in between.
