Well, don't be alarmed if he doesn't warm up to her right away. Give him extra love and attention, until he accepts her.
My Molly was obsessed with other dogs when she was an only child---so I thought i was doing her a favor by adding a second. She wasn't too thrilled with him LOL it took her 3 weeks to warm up. She started liking him when I'd walk them together...so you may want to do that when your little girl is done with her shots.
Psst. I vote for Ava. I don't like the name Mertyl...but then, I love the name Albert so what do I know!
