I use to cut the hair around Joey's nose and eyes in an inverted "V". You can see the first two pictures show where I cut. I decided to grow it out, and this hair will go into the topknot or mustache. I've been growing it out since May, and it's long enough now that it's not poking him in the eyes. You can see picture three was today, and that's 6 months of growth. In the mean time I would use a tiny tiny dab of Petsilk topknot gel. If you are going to trim it, you have to do it every couple of weeks to a month, and I used a rounded tip scissors and held Joey's chin hairs firmly. Bailey still young and the hairs haven't grown completely out, but make sure this is what you want to do before you cut because they do go through a rather bad time to get to the point Bailey already is. I don't recommend ever shaving; it tends to give the dog a longer and scoopier nose appearance. I think some groomers do it to save time, and some dogs because of excessive tearing have to have this done, but it's not the best look. Have you seen member ARCHIE's dog Buddy, does he have the cut you prefer? If so, Archie does all the grooming herself, and perhaps she could give you some tips. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/my-...-makeover.html
