A quick tip on the blanket thing. I had a problem with Loki peeing on the blanket and then pushing it away. I got him two of these:

I don't know if that is the exact brand, but I got them at petsmart for $10 for his 18" crate. They are 100% machine washable and I've washed them 100 times and they are still fine. That way, they can't hide things in them!
