Probiotics and Medical Nutrition Therapy

That link contains another good article that you will enjoy and find interesting...

I use VSL#3 because it has a significant amount of research backing its claims. This article includes info on that. Not only do I give it to Miko for his liver problems (history of HE), but also for his GI issues...Of course, he only gets a fraction of the recommended dose for humans (adults/children)...

If you don't feel comfortable with the inclusion of that strain, then I would try to find a different one. I would probably stay away from that for now, at least until there's more research if you don't feel comfortable. None of the probiotics I've used have contained that strain, so I can't tell you personally about its effects. There's a little bit of info on its effects in the article above but not much...Also, if you scroll to the bottom, there are some charts.

I know I'm probably a skeptic, but I don't trust a lot of pet products as much unless they have research backing them...
