Yes, you can cook pumpkin from scratch. I find the canned pumpkin here right next to the pie filling in the store. You just don't want the pie filling because of the spices added to it. I think you'll find your girl getting more to normal when the pups begin to eat on their own and she doesn't have to be such a 'food factory'. Tonight I fed mine their first food (they'll be 5 weeks on Wednesday). It was some kibble soaked in water and squished into a mush. They didn't get much down but did lick up the water and some of the kibble. Best of luck with Mom and babies.
