Geng, yours and Jim's story really hit me too. As I posted earlier, I had my Bijou on Deramaxx for about a week and a half before finding out the dangers of it. She had no adverse reactions but I took her off it anyway. She's only 2 years old and I couldn't see keeping her on such a dangerous drug. My vet gave me no warnings of the potential dangers of it and I guess I just got lucky that Bijou didn't have a bad reaction to it. I now am giving her a supplement of shark cartilage daily. At least I know it's safe. Thanks to both of you for posting your stories. It sure opened my eyes and, I'm sure, many others too. I was guilty of blindly following my vet and not doing my own research. I am so sorry for both your losses but you guys must know that your stories have reached many. Thanks so much for sharing. I know you have saved others the heartache you all went through. |
