Default How to pick the right Yorkie?

I've been looking around here and there at getting a Yorkie.

When I look in the local classifieds, they can range anywhere from around $500 up to $1500 or more. How do I know I'm getting a good, healthy and adorable Yorkie? I've seen some Yorkies come home really cute and then within a year are not so cute anymore (OK, I know, I'm being very vein).

I'm not convinced that $1500 buys me a better Yorkie than $500 but the consumer in me says buy the more expensive one, it'll be better.

I think I know what people are going to say, look at the parents and that's the best predictor of what your dog will be like through the years. Anythings else I should be looking for when I visit all these puppies?

Also, I'm inclined to go female on the gender.
