Great idea about the rug liner. I would of never thought of that.
I think I have figured out why one of my yorkies pees on my throw rugs sometimes.
When they were very young, I paper trained them (newspapers). I think my fur babies think the rugs are nothing more than soft, furry newspapers.
My friend uses the piddle pads and has never had the problem with her yorkie taking potty breaks on her throw rugs.
Maybe just a coincidence.
I've learned real quick though when I buy any scatter rugs for the house, they have to be machine washable. If they have the latex backing, I always hang them outside to dry. Clothes driers will cause the backing to crumble.
