Minr rarely eats food directly out of her dish. She always picks up a few pieces and runs to the carpet, drops them and eats them off the carpet. Usually she gets them all. We haven't had the problem of food all over. My brother in-laws dog does the same thing (not a Yorkie). Great idea about having your baby clean it up.
