Default Moving Car Trauma

Our 4 year old Yorkshire Terrier named Mia was traumatized when she jumped out of the window of the car while it was driving. This happened when she was about 3 months old. Since then Mia does not travel well. Mia has no fear getting in the car but as soon as the car starts driving she gets very tense and nervous. While my husband is driving I try to hold her and this does not work. We have tried a travel cage placed on the back seat and this does not work. She choses to stand and look out the window very tense and fearful. On our last trip that took about 8 hours it took Mia 1 day to recover as she was totally exhausted from the journey. We have given her 1 baby gravel to calm her down and this does not help.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
Thank you so much
